The last Bucovina stage, and one of the most demanding. After five days in the Obcine, the route climbs and drops without respite, through forest and along forest roads, to Poiana Negri, known for its mineral springs. From there Poiana Stampei closes the land, and the road enters the Highlands.
Leave Vatra Dornei with all the water you can carry: there is nothing until Dorna Candrenilor.
Vatra Dornei → Poiana Negri · traseu pietonal
Altitudes in metres. The stage's total ascent is greater than the difference between its ends, because the path climbs and drops several times.
Guesthouses at both ends. Call a day ahead, as everywhere on the trail: in villages lodging is prepared, not found.
Call at least a day ahead. In villages lodging is prepared, not found: your host puts the water on to heat and cooks only if she knows you are coming. Prices change from season to season, so confirm them on the phone.
In Poiana Negri, at the lodgings in the village.
A village in the Dorna country, known for its mineral waters. Together with Poiana Stampei it closes the Bucovina section of the Via Transilvanica.
