Six hundred metres from the house, a spring of cold, clean water that has run out of a black pipe, between stones and grass, for as long as anyone remembers. The whole town quenches its thirst here: people come with bottles, hikers stop before Măgura, children put their hands under the jet. Start any trail from here, bottle full.

From the top you see the Pietrele Doamnei, all of Câmpulung and the silted-up dams in the valley. One hour, two, as long as you like; good as a warm-up before Rarău too.

The Obcini and the slopes of Rarău are enduro ground known across the country: forest roads, ridge paths and technical climbs, with mud in spring and dust in summer. The basic rule: forest roads may be ridden only with the forestry district's consent, otherwise fines are heavy, and motorised access on marked hiking trails is forbidden. So check with the forestry district beforehand about permitted routes.

The hunting grounds around Câmpulung, between Rarău, Giumalău and Obcina Feredeului, hold red deer, wild boar, roe deer and capercaillie. Hunts are organised exclusively through the hunting associations and forestry districts, with a permit and in season; we neither recommend nor arrange them.

The forest roads around the house are natural MTB ground: the Transrarău climb (17 km, 900 m of ascent) for the trained, the road to the Moara Dracului Gorge and the old-growth forest for easy enduro, the Sadova and Pojorâta valleys for family rides on quiet tarmac. Bikes can be hired at Ariniș Park; from La Cuib you set off straight from the gate.

Three moments when the town takes to the streets. The “Bucovina Encounters” International Folklore Festival, the third weekend of July (17–19 July 2026): a parade of over 600 performers in traditional dress, ensembles from Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Moldova, a craft fair in the Central Park, free entry. Câmpulung Film Fest, in mid-August (13–16 August 2026): short films from two countries compared, the “Golden Mace” competition, open-air screenings and the CFF Village for children in Eminescu Park. The “Wood Road” Festival and the “Dairymen's Fair”: woodcraft and mountain cheeses, with producers from the whole area; the date is announced yearly by the town hall. The house is a few minutes' walk from all of them.

A themed children's park on Nicolae Bălcescu: slides, trails, storybook characters, a terrace with good pizza. Open Saturdays and Sundays, 10–5. Half a day slips by unnoticed.
