What the walking is likeMedium. The first part is pastoral country until the descent to the DN17, which you cross once, then you follow a path a few metres from the road.

Critical spotsThe pedestrian crossing over the DN17 is new and little known to drivers: cross carefully. Up at Brazii Buni, check the weather first, because there is almost no shelter.

LandscapeFrom Tășuleasa to Valea Străjii you pass among farmsteads typical of the Bârgău valleys, with shepherds offering you urdă and fresh cheese. After the DN17, about four kilometres of gentle climbing bring the earlier landscape back.
