The largest annual event of the Union of Poles in Romania, held for over twenty-five years, usually in the second half of August, in Suceava, Moara and Solonețu Nou. The programme has concerts, exhibitions, screenings and an international symposium on Polish-Romanian relations, and at the end the Harvest Festival.
15 August, the Assumption. The sanctuary at Cacica fills with pilgrims, many of them from Poland, who take the chance to visit the Polish villages nearby.
An international folklore festival in Câmpulung Moldovenesc, on the third weekend of July: a parade of over six hundred performers in folk dress, ensembles from Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and the Republic of Moldova, a craft fair in the park, free entry. Our house is a few minutes on foot from the parade route.
