What the walking is like
The shortest approved route in the range, from Piatra Fântânele to the „Borcut” mineral spring. It needs no special equipment.

The route ends at a built mineral spring, known locally as a borcut, the word used across northern Transylvania for sparkling waters.
Salvamont Bistrița-Năsăud re-marked it in 2024, after storms had brought trees down across the access track.

Sleep at the foot of the mountain
La Cuib is 123 minutes by car from the start of this trail: a fully equipped kitchen that is yours from first light, a place to dry boots, a garden for the evening. Three nights, the whole house, 1.797 lei.
