What the walking is like
A crossing over the two Heniu peaks, from Leșu to Prundu Bârgăului. The longest connecting route between the villages on the two slopes.

On Heniul Mare stands a radio and television relay commissioned on 31 December 1977. The main tower is 74 m high and is served by a small cable car on twelve pylons, descending two and a half kilometres towards Prundu Bârgăului.
Prundu Bârgăului has a railway station, on the line from Bistrița, so the route can be walked with the return by train.

Sleep at the foot of the mountain
La Cuib is 180 minutes by car from the start of this trail: a fully equipped kitchen that is yours from first light, a place to dry boots, a garden for the evening. Three nights, the whole house, 1.797 lei.

Once you're back down
The whole house is yours: wet boots by the door, packs in the hall, a late dinner. Parking in the yard and an early start, without waking anyone.
