What the walking is like
From the Bardău station, up the Bardău valley, then a long climb along the ridge to Pietrosu Bardăului Peak, at 1,850 m, and a crossing over Bucovinca and Pecealu into the Coșnea valley.

Pietrosu Bardăului Peak has the widest view over the Maramureș Mountains.
On the summit plateau there are small pools of water, left from the melting snow.

Sleep at the foot of the mountain
La Cuib is half an hour by car plus a walk uphill from the start of this trail: a fully equipped kitchen that is yours from first light, a place to dry boots, a garden for the evening. Three nights, the whole house, 1,797 lei.

Once you're back down
The whole house is yours: wet boots by the door, packs in the hall, a late dinner. Parking in the yard and an early start, without waking anyone.
