What the walking is like
From Șesuri, up the Bistrița Aurie valley, a long climb on forest roads to Poiana Fântânele and the open mountain, joining the red stripe route to the Fântâna Stanchii cabin, then down towards the former Burloaia mine.

The route passes the spoil heap of the Dealul Bucății gallery, a trace of the mining in the area.
For part of the way it runs together with the red stripe marking coming from the Prislop Pass.

Sleep at the foot of the mountain
La Cuib is half an hour by car plus a walk uphill from the start of this trail: a fully equipped kitchen that is yours from first light, a place to dry boots, a garden for the evening. Three nights, the whole house, 1,797 lei.

Once you're back down
The whole house is yours: wet boots by the door, packs in the hall, a late dinner. Parking in the yard and an early start, without waking anyone.
