What the walking is like
A long crossing from Valea Vișeului, through the Vișeu gorge and Bistra, over the ridge between Bistra and Frumușaua, past the Paltinu cabin and the saddle between Tomnatec and Vâjii, to the Repedea forest station.

Valea Vișeului lies only 6 km from the geographical centre of Europe.
The Vișeu gorge, 4.5 km long, is a habitat for the huchen, the largest salmonid in mountain waters.

Sleep at the foot of the mountain
La Cuib is half an hour by car plus a walk uphill from the start of this trail: a fully equipped kitchen that is yours from first light, a place to dry boots, a garden for the evening. Three nights, the whole house, 1,797 lei.

The whole house is yours: wet boots by the door, packs in the hall, a late dinner. Parking in the yard and an early start, without waking anyone.
